Hey, Lake Point Church.

My name's Pastor John Tyson, and I'm excited to be joining you today on the Daily Drive

with Lake Point Church podcast.

I want to kick off a series of thoughts that I just want to call Jesus Masterclass on Prayer.

And this is going to be found in Luke chapter 11. Luke chapter 11 verse 1 says this.

One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. And when he finished, one of his disciples said to him,

Lord, teach us to pray just as John taught his disciples to pray.

Now, this is amazing to me because when the apostles were watching the life of Jesus, they realized that there was power that flowed through his ministry.

You know that Jesus has exercised power over the demonic realm, casting demons out of people.

You know that Jesus taught with a kind of revelatory power. They said, what is this teaching? It comes with authority.

Jesus exercised power over nature, calming the storms, healing disease, curing sickness. And a lot of

times, if I was with one of the apostles, I would have

said, Jesus, teach me how to have power over nature. Teach me how to cast out demons. Teach me how to

heal the sick. But they don't ask Jesus any of these things. Do you want to know why? Because they

realized that the source of all of the power in Jesus
