Do you know what you look like angry?

A while back, we talked over at Daily Stoke about one of Seneca's remedies for a hot temper.

Try to catch a glimpse of yourself in the mirror sometime when you're upset, he said,

and you'd be appalled at how you look.

We talk about this exercise a bit in our course on anger at Daily Stoke also,

but the logic is worth considering for dads too.

Anger might feel deserved or appropriate, but it almost always looks awful.

The next time you're out, try watching for other dads who are getting angered by something that

their kids are doing, or observe the crowd at your son or daughter's next baseball game,

track that family traveling on vacation at the airport or people at the table across from you at dinner.

Because it's as close to a look in the mirror as you're likely to get.

In Austin, we have not one winter, but we say three winters.

There's winter and then false spring and then second winter and then second false spring and then third winter and then finally spring happens.

Usually happens right around now, but it can be very deceptive.

But now that spring is finally here, I get to spend more time outside,

which is what actually makes me happy.
