That's where it's important as parents to agree to have the talk with each other before you have the talk with a kid.

And you don't decide how you're going to correct behavior in the moment when you're frustrated.

You need to sort of seek wise counsel, come to agreement.

Okay, what is our unified front?

Because what children will do, they will have a divide and conquer strategy and they'll try to play mom against dad and dad against mom.

And what that does, that starts to break the marriage.

And all of a sudden, the division with the child leads to the division in the marriage.

This happens all the time.

You get married. You have a kid and you don't agree on what to do with the kid, especially when the kid is being naughty.

Well, first you have to look at and be willing to examine how you were raised, because usually

we either mimic the discipline or lack of discipline that we

received as a child or we overreact to the discipline or lack of discipline.
