Good morning. It's three minutes after 10 and, well, I've got live pictures in front of me.

Dominic Cummings, remember him and Lee Kane, who was sort of his senior henchman,

are due to give evidence to the COVID-19 inquiry today. I confessed you yesterday, probably rather

amateurishly. I think, I think, do you think I overshare? Do I overshare with you? Do you think? I tell you stuff I probably shouldn't. I regret stuff. I've got some fascinating gossip about one of my standings from last week, but I can tell by my colleagues' reactions that if I share that with you on air, there'll be, the heads will roll probably. Heads will roll. Can I not even play a guessing game with it? I mean,'s great. No. Okay. Oh, such a killjoy. It's seriously. You wouldn't think I was the oldest person on the team, would you? But I think, I possibly overshared yesterday when I said I was struggling to come up with a good question about the COVID-19 inquiry. But I am and I was and I still am, but I want to talk about it first up this morning.

And I think we can find a way into it together through some of the details that emerged yesterday, chiefly, I think.

Well, two things really spring to mind.

The first is that Chris Witty described Rishi Sunak's Eat Out to Help Out Scheme as Eat Out to Help the Virus.

I think you have to work on the principle, don't you?

That they didn't expect any of this ever to come out.

You just have to work on that principle.

I find that a bit baffling.

I know that a fish rots from the

head down. At least that's the proverb. I don't think it's anatomically correct. But the

idea that Boris Johnson's moral corruption and general uselessness was so overpowering, so complete

that it actually ended up affecting every single tentacle of government

is pretty hard to resist. How could you have sat there as Chancellor of the Exchequer?

And thought to yourself, well, the chief medical officer thinks that this is an absolutely ridiculous idea

that is almost certainly going to kill people. But I'm going to get some good front pages out of it.

So let's press ahead. You could only have done that if you thought it was going to stay secret.

Listen, I could be getting all of this wrong. And you know what happens when I get everything
