Let's talk about landscape fabric. It's something that is clearly recommended a lot in the

gardening world. Should you use it? Should you not use it? Are there better things to use, etc?

Let's talk about it.

I personally don't use a ton of it in my garden,

but I also garden in very tall raised beds.

The Birdies Garden Products raised beds,

which are a minimum of 15 inches and a maximum right now of 30 inches tall so a 30 inch tall

bad really doesn't even need landscape fabric at all unless of course you're dealing with some kind of digging pest. So those

are the raised beds I'm in again those are the ones I sell on my store if you're

interested in that the link is in the podcast description but when and why should you use landscape fabric.

Weed barrier fabric is somewhat unique in that it allows water

errand nutrients to pass through the barrier, but it is woven in a way that makes it much more difficult for weeds,

as it would imply, to come through that membrane.

It can also keep animals out to a degree although if you want to keep

digging pests out it is highly recommended to use a hardware cloth based

solution instead of going with just weed fabric.

So again, advantages.

It's easy to install.

You can get it in garden ready sizes.

It's sort of cut to size or is sold in the roll size

that most people want to use, like the size of a pathway for

example it will prevent weed germination and development it will limit the use
