Hello everyone and welcome to Slash Film Daily for May 16th 2018 on today's show we're going to talk about what we've been up to or what Ben's been up to and in the latest film and TV news we will discuss do we really need this sequel

0:16.8

spin-off or additional season of this thing we once liked I think that's that that's the title of today's episode. This is slash film editor-in-chief,

0:27.6

Peter Sorretta and joining me on to his podcast, a senior writer Ben Pearson.

0:30.9

Hey, what's going on? And writer, Chris Evangelista.

0:35.0

Hello.

0:36.0

Okay, before we get into things, Ben yesterday we talked about Deadpool 2.

0:41.0

You're not here.

0:42.0

1:15.2

drive across town home from the far flung screening that we went to in Century City.

1:21.6

And I think for me it all boils down to the humor in these movies and I just

1:26.4

don't connect with it on any level and I think there's a huge disconnect between

1:31.2

what the movie thinks is a joke and what is actually a joke because

1:36.4

most of the things that the characters deliver, most of the lines that they

1:40.9

deliver as jokes, I don't think qualify.

1:44.2

I think they just deliver them as if they're saying a joke or telling a joke, but it's

1:49.1

just like more of a reference.

1:50.9

It's not in and of itself a

1:53.2

a funny thing. It's just like, hey, this thing exists and we're referencing that.
