Today, I want to talk about something that some people are uncomfortable

talking about, and that is immigration. And I don't know why we're uncomfortable. We're a country

of immigrants. My parents are both immigrants. My daughter is technically an immigrant. We adopted

her from Bogota, Columbia, and she is here now as an American citizen.

We all came from somewhere, but there's a difference between immigration and illegal immigration.

And right now, what's happening at the southern border is not just illegal immigration.

It is an unsustainable pattern of people just walking into this country.

And we don't have the necessary personnel to handle it. And so over two million people have walked into this

country in fiscal year 2022, which just ended. I think it's like 2.75 million. I have the number here.

And in El Paso, where they've just declared a state of emergency, about 2,000 people a day

are crossing into El Paso, Texas.

Why are we okay with this?

We're going to discuss that next.
