numbers in the news and in life. I'm Tom Coles. This week, do 20% of young adults in the US believe that the Holocaust is a myth.

That was one of the results from a U-Gov poll back in December 2023,

published by the economist under their headline,

One in five young Americans thinks the Holocaust is a myth.

And picked up by news outlets across the globe.

But over at respected pollsters the Pew Research Center, senior research

methodologist Andrew Mercer had his doubts. It seemed really suspect to me and

very surprising. I do enough polls even you know the most rigorous

polls that you get surprising results from time to time that probably should

get a second look and you shouldn't immediately just take them as the gospel truth.

So, should you trust this poll?
