1 Samuel 12 verse 23,

moreover as for me, far be it for me that I should sin against the Lord

and the right way. This is quite a verse when

you hear this leader among God's people saying this,

far be it for me that I should sin against God. It is a sin against God

for a leader to cease to pray for those

he leads, or she leads, and it's a sin against God for

he or she not to instruct them in the good and the right way.

Don't you think about any capacity in which you have leadership

in others lives? It is a sin against God to cease to pray

for those you lead, and to cease to point them in good and

right ways. And really there's a sense in which

regardless of whether or not we're in a leadership position, God has called us

to this, right? Like we have been given the privilege

of prayer before God and specifically intercession

for others. You and I have an open invitation from the God of the universe to

come to Him on behalf of others in need, at any time
