Of course I do.

This American life.

You brought it into the prison for us to hear before Ear House would have been existed.

Exactly because I really wanted you and the guys inside to know what a podcast is supposed

to sound like.

You mean the goal, standard?

Totally.

And one of the reasons it remains my favorite is that Ira and the team tell stories that

make you understand what it feels like to be in someone else's shoes.

They definitely have a story about what it feels like to be in my shoes.

Oh yeah, like what?

There's this episode called The Longest Distance Between Two Points.

And in it you hear this little guy struggling so hard to come up with a way to visualize

the difference between bees and bees.

And man, that one gave me little boo-hoo's because that is exactly what it's like to be dyslexic.

And I still struggle with those damn bees and bees.

Oh, you know, I think their show works so well because sometime, like you just said, you

see yourself in it.

And other times, it's something you thought you understood, but just a whole other perspective

on it.

This American life just sounds different than any other show.
