Summary

James and Robert are back with another episode of The Double Cleanse, and this week they're tackling the MASSIVE question: Do influencers owe their followers anything? After celebrating James's 11-year YouTube anniversary (still can't believe it!), the twins chat about their upcoming live shows in New York (April 28th) and LA (April 25th) – complete with meet and greet tickets and intimate seating... we're so excited! The real talk starts when James and Robert address current influencer drama: an unnamed mega-influencer who received a DM from a follower asking them to share a GoFundMe after losing their job – and instead of ignoring it, the influencer went on TikTok to rant that the follower was lazy and should "just get another job." The twins are absolutely furious about this. We're breaking down why influencers DO owe their followers basic respect and kindness - especially when those followers are directly responsible for their wealth and platform. They dissect the argument that "content is the exchange" and compare it to terrible customer service: just because you got your order doesn't mean the server can be rude to you. Most importantly, they emphasize that helping doesn't always mean money – it's about how you REACT when someone asks for help during a genuine crisis. Hello, everybody, welcome back to the double cleanser podcast, a podcast where we talk about the beauty influencer space and whatever we want to talk about. My name's James Welsh. I'm a skincare enthusiast and YouTuber content creator of 11 years.

11 years to this day. To last week. I'm Robert Welsh, a professional makeup artist and also content creator off 21 years.

No. Not configuration. Yeah. Yeah. I know. To this day. On my YouTube studio, like the back end of YouTube, like a couple weeks ago, it was like, happy 11th anniversary. And I was like, can't be. I started last week. What you're talking about?

0:52.3

That literally doesn't make sense. I feel like I've not been doing it for 11 years.

That means I started what? When I was 12? 12. Something like that. Yeah. Not when I was 12. Something like that. I feel like last time we, since we recorded, so much has happened in the influence of beauty space. It's been a month, no, two months.

1:11.4

It's been a while, six weeks, ish.

Six weeks, yeah.

She does it knowing it's shit, right? She knows what she's doing. She knows. Yeah, she's fine. We do want to talk about a bit of influencer drama today. That is current when we're filming this. But even if it's not, I feel like we need to talk about the biggest situation at play. But first, I do want to plug ourselves real quick. Yeah, I mean,

1:55.3

where else could we? Why not? We have a live show in America, live shows, one in New York and in L.A. Yes, the US of A. The US of States. The dates of the 25th in L.A LA and the 28th in New York. You can find more details. I don't know, Google it, Ticketmaster, over on our joint Instagram at the Welsh Twins. All the details are there, but yes, if you browse Ticketmaster for the Welsh Twins, all the details will be up. We have meat and Greek tickets and standard seating as well, but they're quite intimate, nice kind of venues. Yeah, both of venues are very like, we can see you. Yeah, we'll give you a wave regardless. So yeah, check that out, please. We will hopefully see you very, very soon. Speaking of live shows, I've been kind of re-browsing the internet. Just see what other influencers are doing for their live shows, maybe get a bit of inspiration. But I now need to do a fact or fiction for you related to the live shows that I got from this. Fact or Fiction is a game you play where we talk about something an influencer may or may not have done. Yeah. Because they do some crazy shit. Crazy things. And Robert has to guess if it's true or false fact or fiction. So get this, right. A pretty big influencer. I would say like, I don't know the exact words, but more than like five million less than 10 million. Oh, oh, well, that's, yeah, big, yeah, on TikTok. And on YouTube
