whether it's in the form of jewelry, a raw material, or my favorite, a big gold bar.

But is this statement that has been circulating widely across different social media platforms, true.

Did you know that Indian women hold 11% of the entire world's gold?

investment and gifting culture in India and I can say from my own family's experience that this is

mirrored within the South Asian diasporas

across the world.

But what about this specific statistic?

Do Indian women really own 11% of the entire world's gold. Before we take a deeper dive, let's hear how

popular the purchase of gold is in India. We as Indians love gold and it's not just a fascination with the yellow metal or its glow.

I think there's a lot of culture intertwined with us having this love of gold and really owning gold through our lives.
