| 0:30.0 | Now, fear is an emotion that helps you survive. |
| 0:34.0 | But what happens when our body becomes an chronic state of fear and how does that influence our bodies? |
| 0:39.0 | Not good, and the question is what can we do about it? |
| 0:43.0 | Well, one of the most powerful things you can do is you can do fasting. |
| 0:47.0 | There are many, many things that fasting can do for the brain, for your immune system, |
| 0:52.0 | for your cognitive function, and for your mood. |
| 0:57.0 | Now, when I say mood, I'm talking about elevating your mood from a chronic state of anxiety or fear to a much higher state. |
| 1:06.0 | Now, there's several mechanisms behind why this works. |
| 1:09.0 | But fasting is also a survival mechanism that helps you survive in times of danger. |
| 1:16.0 | So it tends to counter this fear-motion. |
| 1:20.0 | Especially supporting your adrenal glands. |
| 1:23.0 | Also, a little structure in your brain called the amygdala, which is very similar to the adrenals, but for the brain. |
| 1:31.0 | And so they found the amygdala in the brain has everything to do with fear. |
| 1:34.0 | And then you have something called the sympathetic nervous system, as in the flight or fight mechanism. |
| 1:40.0 | And the location of that is inside your adrenal glands, because there's two parts. |
| 1:44.0 | You have an outside and inside, it's on the inside, and also in all of the mid-back nerves, you have the sympathetic nervous system. |
