Mystery Hour. Gosh, that voice sounds portentous. And rightly so, because it portends some magical occurrences. This is my favourite part of the week. And it also constitutes favourite part of the listening week for many of you, I know. So let's just remind ourselves and enlighten newcomers of exactly what it involves. First thing I'll say is, look, it's mystery out. It's Thursday. Phone lines are open. 0845-6060973 is the number to call. Hit the numbers now. You will get through a situation that is never

when, a where-for, or whither, we'll even do a whence, if you're feeling so inclined.

1:24.4

The point is this. You need to get your question on the board as quickly as possible.

1:27.8

And when you hear somebody else ask a question to which you know the answer, then the number remains the same and you have to ring in with it.

1:34.8

The prize on offer is, well, just about the most desired, applaud it in the world of radio.

1:43.3

It's a genuine, bona fide mystery hour round of applause.

0845-6060-9773. And the questions can be as silly or as serious as you like. We've covered areas of quite complicated science, and we've also answered questions, rather winningly last week, such as, why can't my dog drink through a straw?

2:04.9

To which I quite predictably replied, how do you know he can't?
