It's path to the Hall of Fame looked to be dead for a while and the fact that he was a finalist in 2016, it was great, but it was the first time he'd been a finalist and then he

dropped off the radar for a little bit and one thing that was so awesome about getting to work with him five days a week on a radio show for two years was after a while realizing that there were things we could do to help him.

So we started getting Hall of Fame voters on the radio one by one.

And Steve Atwater, he didn't want to talk up his case,

but Ryan Edwards and I on the show,

we were willing to ask the question.

Steve was modest.

Ryan and I were the jerks kind of pushing and saying, you got Steve Atwater here. Do you think he should be a Hall of Famer?

And I'm not going to say that it did everything because Steve Atwater's resume was Sterling and he should have been a Hall of Fame or long ago

But I do think with this Hall of Fame selection process that there was a need to remind the voters of just how accomplished the player

Steve at Water was. I feel like it was a job well done by everybody.

Steve has the gold jacket and guys, he's going to be like Terrell Davis and Floyd Little.

No one's going to be prouder to be a Hall of Famer.

I think he's going to go through several gold jackets because he's going to wear that darn thing out.

He is on the ultimate team and Steve has told me that the ring he wears, no offense, the soup bowl rings, but the ring he wears is going to be that Hall of Fame ring.

It's an exclusive club and man to know somebody who's in the Hall of Fame. It's just amazing.

Can't wait to celebrate with him in Canton.

I love that you said to know somebody because for me, the first day that Steve was working for the Broncos, I was like, I was awestruck.

It's like, you're just not, you don't, you just don't expect to like meet those people when you're a kid.

And so, I called my mom the next day and I was like,

mom, I met Steve Atwater today.

Like he's gonna be around, he's like working for the Bronx.
