Welcome in to the DNVR Avalanche podcast. We've got the whole gang, AJ, Rudo, Megan, Eric, coming to you live again from Family Sports Center and day two of Avalanche training camp.

0:14.5

Uh-huh. Uh-huh. Just like that. Is that how you really feel about Family Sports Center?

0:19.2

We're not sports. We'll talk to Bo Bayer, and we'll get to that a little bit later in the show. Mm-hmm. Is that how you really feel about Family Sports Center? From a sport center.

0:22.5

We'll talk to Bo Byer.

0:24.6

We'll get to that a little bit later in the show.

0:29.5

First, they switched the groups around, so the group two from yesterday was the early group.

0:31.3

They also switched a couple of players.

0:34.2

So it was a little bit intermixed.

0:35.4

Too many changes for me.

0:36.8

I'm not emotionally prepared.

0:38.4

Not ready for it.

0:41.3

AJ, I mean, we can start with you.

0:44.6

I know you were about it with Matt Steinberg today.

0:46.7

Yeah, he was good.

0:51.4

That whole, well, them, and then it was him and Ben Myers were the two you were telling me about.

0:53.2

Yeah.

0:54.0

No, so what I really liked about Matt Steinberg, he was on online with McDermott and Peter Holland.

0:59.1

And what I was really liking was that in the breakout drills, of the three of them, he was the one that appeared most comfortable with where he needed to be, what his assignment was.

1:09.7

Holland was a little bit, understandably so. It's day two for him. But what I really loved about Steinberg, he knows what he was, he knew where he was going, he knew what he was doing, but it was his physicality. He's winning 50-50 pucks, which is the whole point of what they were doing. And not just that he was getting to the puck and he was winning the puck,

1:28.3

but he was chipping it ahead and he was making a play with it. He was doing something with it other than, we'll get it out of the zone, you know, and we'll give it to the other team, we'll give it right back to him, but it'll be in the neutral zone and then they have to try and bring it back in. He was actually creating a little bit with it. and he was the catalyst in creating a 2-1-1 goal that ended up in Devon-taive scoring,

1:48.5

and it was awesome.

1:50.3

But it all started with Steinberg doing what he needed to do.
