0:00.0	Welcome in to the DNVR avalanche podcast. We got Eric, we got Megan, we got Rudo coming to you live. Our first off-day pod in what feels like a long time. Lots of avalanche hockey going on. But we figured on an off day it would be a good time to talk a little bit around the league, a little bit what's going on in the NHL outside of the avalanche bubbles. Because let's face it, who wants to talk about a three-game losing streak? Nobody, right? That's not a thing we care about. No. They are two overtime losses, to be fair. It's not that bad. But certainly, the starting point I want to jump off from here, As are a whole lot better than these two teams.

0:41.6	The Chicago Blackhawks or the San Jose Sharks?

0:49.1	Obviously, worse is subjective. Of course.
0:49.9	And the reason it feels like Chicago is because San Jose didn't make a lot of moves in the offseason
0:55.0	to become better.
0:56.2	They did not.
0:56.8	And Chicago, obviously, drafting BDard and making additions to their depth and their forward
1:06.2	group on the whole suggests that there was a little bit more effort and obviously that has just never made a
1:13.2	lot of sense on paper. It feels like they weren't fully, neither team was fully committed, but San Jose
1:18.0	at least was honest about that. And I don't think that Chicago was. And I think now the troubles of
1:24.0	that are catching up to both teams, of course, but Chicago in particular.
1:34.6	And it's worrisome for both teams with young players on the rise that need a little bit more support around them to succeed. And I think that's why we're seeing the results that we have.
1:38.3	You know, the Connor Bedards of the world need decent talent around them to elevate their play and get them baptized into the
1:47.6	National League. And I think that's just the struggles. It's in every area, right? It's not just
1:51.7	the forward group. On D, there's a lot of question mark. With Chicago, I think Kortinski is a
1:57.3	wonderful young player. Similar reasons, though, That is such a tough position to throw into the
2:02.2	gauntlet too soon. And I think it's why it's such a position you want to develop very delicately.
2:07.5	And I worry about that a little bit with Chicago more so maybe than San Jose because I'm not really
2:14.1	sure what San Jose is doing right now.
