and I'm Brad Minkley. I would say the top story is an update from Hong Kong but you're not going to

hear it on the top headlines of the day on any news outlet. I decided to figure out what the actual voting

returns were in Hong Kong because it is continuing to be touted as this pro-democracy victory.

No matter whether the council has power or not, there was 90 plus percent of the

districts went to pro-democracy candidates.

So I thought, how do you, how am I going to figure this out?

Because nobody is publishing the vote count.

I ended up finding it on Wikipedia just because I searched it as

vote breakdown by district. I didn't get that but what I did get was by party so

they have a bunch of parties, say eight parties. And one, two, three, four, I'm looking at

nine parties here, ten parties. Six of them are pro-democracy and four of them are pro-Beijing. I'm going to use the terminology they use.

As the pro-Dem parties they got, this is from this is from Wikiano.

The main article says it just like this.

There's a subsidiary article that's slightly different,

but I'm going with the main article because the other one the math doesn't work. So this one I think the math looks. Okay, it's 24.4% of the vote went to pro-democracy parties and they got 165 seats.

24.4% of the vote also went to pro-Be Beijing parties and they got 34 seats.

So they got a fraction of the seats.

Now this doesn't all jibe with the 90% of the seats went to whatever. It is a mess trying to figure this

stuff out like you can go to the best sources I found or the wiki articles but

there's one inlet inset that has like these 10 things and I just investigated each party to see which they classify themselves for democracy or pro-democracy or pro-vaging.
