Welcome back to DMNastics, the gym for Dungeon Masters to work out their minds.

0:13.8

I'm one of your hosts, DM Neal, aka Jote Moniac.

0:18.1

And I am your other host, DM Derek, aka How Not to DM.

0:22.7

Absolutely.

0:24.0

There is a running series that we've had on the podcast for quite some time.

0:27.9

But we realized that it fits with the structure of DMNastics a little bit better.

0:33.1

So we're going to be bringing the magic of magic to D&D another time.

0:37.1

The naming convention has been shot to heck, but I believe this will be number 12 in the series.

0:43.5

D&D agrees the next secret layer will be for the 50th anniversary, so we figured why not just

0:50.2

beat them to the punch and start just shoving magic into D&D right now.

0:54.3

It's already been happening, right? We've got Ravnikah, we've got Strick's Haven. So who knows what's next?

1:01.1

So that's happening at scale. Yeah, and if anyone doesn't know, oh gosh darn it, I always, I get so excited about these because I'm not a magic player.

1:10.7

Never been a magic player. Let's be honest with each other. Never going to be a magic player. That's just, it's not in the cards for me. Please move on. But I hated it. You didn't enjoy it, listener. I didn't like saying it, but I wanted it to go away, so I don't have to think about it anymore. So now I've been said. I play a ton of Marvel Snap. So it's not that I don't play card games, it's that I can only really focus on one of the time. You used to play a ton, a ton of Heartstone. And now, yeah, I'm locked in on Marvel Snap. All of that to say, I used to elude to a randomizer online called MTG Random.

1:49.7

And it was really good, but it did focus really heavily on much older cards, as well as the images were kind of hard to read.

1:57.5

So since then, someone has decided to create Scrifall, which is a much better

2:03.5

quality image as well as a mountain of information in terms of like where is it legal, how much

2:10.1

can you get it for, where is it from, being able to copy, paste the text in case you were

2:14.1

wanting to do stand-ins for cards, like really, really nice.

2:17.9

And also, key feature has a random button.

2:20.9

So we're going to randomly look at some cards, come up with some D&D ideas,

2:25.0

and hopefully, as always, inspire you the listener to keep on Dungeon Mastering.

2:29.5

It's in the title.
