News: This piece of news is strictly in the RUMOR category, but thought it was possibly exciting enough to at least mention on the show. There is a rumor, posted over at Disneyland News Today, that Main Street, USA is planning to open sometime in mid-March. This would be approximately a year since the park closed to guests on March 14th last year. If this is true, Main Street should be open to guests just like Buena Vista Street is currently. No word on how close guests will be able to get to Sleeping Beauty Castle, or what will be open. Keep an eye on our social media accounts for any update on this rumored story. – https://dlnewstoday.com/2021/02/rumor-main-street-u-s-a-at-disneyland-park-to-reopen-march-14th-exactly-one-year-after-the-park-closed/ With the closing of the resort last year, the Food and Wine Festival that was in progress never got to run it’s course. A new, limited ticketed event will allow Disneyland favorites from around the entire resort to be enjoyed once again. The rest of Disney California Adventure, minus all the attractions, will be accessible during this event, starting in mid-March. This event is also expected to bring 1,000 cast members back to work. No details on exact dates, ticket cost, or when the tickets will go on sale. – https://www.micechat.com/281918-breaking-news-food-festival-planned-for-disney-california-adventure/ and https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2021/02/08/breaking-news-ticketed-food-event-inside-of-disney-california-adventure-coming-soon/ The theming of the new Star Wars Trading Post in Downtown Disney has been coming along with some new props. On the building itself, camouflage netting, communications dishes, and wiring have been added. In front of the new location, Rey’s speeder from Jakuu has been installed as a photo op. With all of this new themeing, it is only a matter of time before this location is open to welcome guests. – https://dlnewstoday.com/2021/02/photos-wires-thrown-all-over-and-set-piece-added-to-star-wars-trading-post-at-downtown-disney-district/ and https://wdwnt.com/2021/02/photos-new-star-wars-trading-post-lights-up-in-the-downtown-disney-district/ Preview reservations were open for Star Wars Trading Post for legacy passholders, but sold out immediately. They may open more availability in the future, so keep an eye on the link in our show notes. – https://disneyland.disney.go.com/enchanting-extras-collection/booking-star-wars-trading-post/ and https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2021/02/09/reservations-now-open-for-star-wars-passholder-event-at-disneyland-resort/ Exterior lighting has been in testing for Avenger’s Campus this week. The new lighting for the area can be seen by those guests who are inside Buena Vista Street after dark. The front of the Spider-Man attraction is lit up in blue, with the red section sporting a lit up WEB logo in white. Once the parks reopen, it shouldn’t be too long until guests can walk the pathways of this new area! – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2021/02/04/photos-lights-are-on-at-avengers-campus-in-disneyland-resort/ With eating allowed at the resort again, there are a couple of new options for churros. Returning is the fluffernutter churro, which you may remember is a churro covered with peanut butter, marshmallows, and chocolate. A new option is the chocolate pineapple churro. The churro is covered in an oreo crumble, and drizzled with a pineapple glaze. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2021/02/06/churro-lovers-rejoice-fluffernutter-churros-have-returned-to-disneyland/ and https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2021/02/08/review-are-the-chocolate-pineapple-churros-a-must-try-or-a-hard-pass-in-disneyland-resort/ Salt and Straw is bringing some flavors back out of their “vault” to Downtown Disney. The flavors are a salted caramel cupcake, Cinnatopia Cinnamon Bun, Strawberry Tres Leches, Brown Ale & Bacon, and Lemon Cheesecake Crumble. Some of these flavors date back to as early as 2011! – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2021/02/06/salt-straw-at-disneyland-resort-is-bringing-its-most-epic-flavors-out-of-the-vault/ Dining- whats open and how to get a reservation. – https://www.micechat.com/281610-disneyland-update-hearts-sing-and-wishful-things/ and https://www.mouseplanet.com/12855/Disneyland_Resort_Update_for_February_1__7_2021 Disneyland Resort Legacy Passholders have access to a new WandaVision photo op near Award Weiners in Disney California Adventure. Legacy members enter at the Sunset Showcase Theater marquee and head to the setup. Guests can then sit on a couch, and take a photo through a set of televisions setup to frame the shot. Note that cast members can’t take photos for guests due to covid restrictions, so be sure to have a friend. A WandaVision poster is also provided, while supplies last. – https://www.mouseplanet.com/12860/Disneyland_Resort_Update_for_February_8__14_2021 and https://www.micechat.com/281610-disneyland-update-hearts-sing-and-wishful-things/ The Red Car Trolley has been moved to the entrance area of Buena Vista Street to make room on Hollywood Boulevard for more outdoor vending carts. This is a prime location to be able to take a photo with the trolley! – https://www.micechat.com/281610-disneyland-update-hearts-sing-and-wishful-things/ The California Legislature is working on a bill which would allow theme parks in the state to open in an earlier tier than was previously announced. The bill calls for the removal of the limitation between small and large theme parks, resulting in all parks being treated the same. Governor Gavin Newsom would have to sign the bill, if passed and there is no indication that he would at this time. – https://www.micechat.com/281387-california-legislators-chart-course-for-earlier-theme-park-reopenings/ Chevrolet has teamed up with Walt Disney World to promote their newest electric car, the Chevy Bolt EUV. In the commercial, three familiar hitchhikers try and bum a ride from a family in the electric car. That’s right! Gus, Ezra, and Phineas are in the commercial. More information will be released about this new vehicle on February 14th at 4pm eastern. – https://www.laughingplace.com/w/news/2021/02/08/chevrolet-and-disney-world-new-ad-featuring-hitchhiking-ghosts/ Discussion Topic: Emily – aka Pinderella from Pinderellashop.com and Pinderella Shop LLC on Facebook.
