What's up, guys?

Welcome to Double Shot of Steelers.

I'm Dan Kovach of D.K. Pittsburgh Sports.

We'll be joined soon by Chris Hallick, our beatwriter, here covering the Steelers.

And it's kind of funny that we get into

all kinds of strange subjects and I'm not even talking about the weird stuff we got into

this week Star Wars nonsense or whatever I'm talking about just random football narratives and things that seem at the time like they're larger than life.

One of the cool things, one of the many cool things about this job is that there's a real grounding that takes place.

And this applies to all three of the teams that I cover, all the sports, everything I've ever done,

where you'll spend, I don't know, days, weeks covering a certain story,

and you'll sit there and you'll write about it or you'll talk about it like it's larger than life.

And then the next thing you know, there's an actual sporting event that comes around.

And it just, it just brings you like to, oh, yeah, that's why we're here.

Okay, cool.

Well, one of those is coming up. I'm very happy to say on Tuesday with the actual assembly of at least most, you would think, of the football team on a football field, doing football things. And you're reminded and powerfully so that this is literally what

it's all about. I mean, we're still going to be looking for stuff. We're still going to be

poking around the field. You know, is TJ Watt there? Where's T.J. What does this mean if

T.J. is not there? We're going to be looking at

mannerisms related to narratives. How does, let's say, how does Mason Rudolph carry himself

as QB1 in that fold? You know, is there anything different about his demeanor? Is he

maybe a little nervous about it? Is he really enjoying it?

Who knows? Who knows? Never been there. At least not in an off-season setting for him.
