Not going to lie here.

When I hear about the great defensive line class in this upcoming NFL draft, my first thought is find somebody who can be a compliment to Cam Hayward the way Stefan to it was.

I might be thinking about it wrong, though. Good afternoon to you. I'm Dan Kovachievich of

D.K. Pittsburgh Sports. This is the new double shot show. This is my opportunity to flesh out that concept a little further.

See, here's the thing.

Cam is going to turn 36 in May.

And I know years don't count for Cam.

He doesn't actually age.

He's coming off a season in which he was an all pro for the fifth time.

Only mean Joe Green has done that among Pittsburgh defensive linemen.

Five-time all-pro.

Nine sacks, second most in the league at his position.

Eleven tackles for losses.

Led the team and pass his defense.

He is who he is.

He's headed for Canton.

He's as legit a Hall of Famer as any of the various Steelers that he'll be joining in there.

And at the same time, at some point or other, you know, he's actually not going to be there.

He signed for two more years, for those of you were curious about the contract status.

And he looks like he'll be able to really, really fully fill those out.

But at the same time, when you're talking about a first round commitment in a class that is this rich at that specific position, and we've had a couple recently that haven't had defensive linemen at all. I don't know that you want to

pass up the opportunity. You know, there's, you can get all sappy and sentimental, you know,
