Sports and the Steelers just had their first full, padded, physical, mouthy, really, really, really sweaty practice. And you could feel it there

on the sideline, couldn't you? I think you could smell it too. You could smell it as well.

It was definitely, it felt like the first actual practice of training camp, as the first padded practice really

does. I mean, the first four practices, it's the acclamation period. They're only able to do

so much even an 11 on 11, but no, today, whether it was seven shots or whether it was one-on-ones

between receivers and like defensive backs or obviously backs on backers.

The intensity definitely picked up today.

Yeah, this really essentially was day one of training camp.

The conditions were close to optimal.

The fields and the grass here are all a little bit soggy.

A little bit.

I stepped in a gigantic mud.

Up there, yeah.

Up there.

But on the main field, on Chuck Knoll field, it seemed like it was pretty much okay for the most part.

I have two words to share with you, Mr. Halleck, before we get to a break and get to our main segment.

That would be Joey Porter. Oh, yeah.

And Joey Porter really distinguished himself, I thought, today. First, knocking Jalen Warren

backward on a run. Second, knocking Caleb Johnson way backward on a run. These are not plays that you associate

with this particular porter, are they? No, they're not, but the one thing that he has done since

a first few games of his rookie season is improve as a tackler. He'll tell you that too. Yeah, he will.
