Imagine that your priority is the owner of the franchise the day after a loss so embarrassing, so all-encompassing that it has the whole sporting world laughing at various examples and statistics from within it.

And you wake up the next morning and think,

boy, I sure got to get ahead of these Mike Tomlin rumors.

And in this case, I mean literally ahead because there hadn't even been a chance for any good ones to get started.

But the team, through various channels, including our company, D.K. Pittsburgh Sports, made known that Art Rooney, the only

person who could fire Tomlin, will not, and that Tomlin will be back again as head coach.

This was day one of the Steelers offseason, and very clearly, it was priority one. Believe it or not, that's not even the part that I

like least about this specific scenario. Because you know what it actually says? You got a minute

here? Because I'm going to share with you a digression here that goes way off the grid. But you're

going to, you're going to want to hear this, even though it's about baseball.

Back in 2019, when the pirates were just done with their 12th year under the same team president and general manager and all their various staff,

the very, very, very unpopular owner of the Pirates Bob Nutting

fired the manager, Clint Hurdle, but kept on the president, Frank Coonle, kept on the general

manager, Neil Huntington, kept on everybody else. It was, as some of you in the city, will recall, wildly unpopular.
