Will Howard's fresh off a rookie season in which he completed no passes for no yards and took no offensive snaps, not even in a preseason game, but he's also just had one heck of a week.

Much news, I'm betting, will result. Much attention on further betting will be paid to only every single syllable that he speaks, because we're all going to be looking for clues as to what's next. His coordinators, his coaching staff, his style.

Of course, all the sentimental and sappy stuff being from here.

But me, I'm locked in on quarterback.

I am.

I'm skipping ahead.

I have been fascinated already to hear from Art Rooney by way of the interview that he did with Stealers.com that one of the things that intrigued McCarthy the most about this roster was Howard, about the potential that he has,

about what he can mean to this franchise. In turn, and you could say predictably, that's prompted some NFL analysts over the weekend,

including former quarterbacks, to pipe up with their own.

Praise for Howard, who, I'll repeat, hasn't done anything.

It hasn't been his fault either.

I'm just saying there's been no actual movement on the

Howard front since he snapped that finger on a routine drill at St. Vincent College last summer.

Now, nobody, not today, not anytime soon, probably not until late this summer, is about to declare Howard the Steelers

QB1. If McCarthy does, in fact, offer support for Howard and offer some kind words about what he can be,
