Now, in the Mike Tomlin days, the conversation that would be had with Tomlin in these settings

was the first opportunity that you had as a reporter to speak with the head coach since the season concluding press conference, which was a span of about two months, which in reporter land can feel like an eternity.

Because you know there's a lot of stuff going on and you can't

ask any of the questions that you want to ask. Well, in this context, for all intents and purposes,

these are going to be the first football questions that McCarthy's ever been asked as it relates

to the Steelers.

And the reason for that is all he's had to date was the introductory press conference, which was a whole bunch of, you know, teary-eyed, I love Pittsburgh, Greenfield this,

greenfield that.
