I have a feeling my message today isn't going to make it, at least not with everybody.

And I have a feeling within that that it's going to be my fault.

The NFL draft opened up last night right here in our city in front of an NFL record 320,000.

According to the league, and there were all kinds of just sweet scenes all over the north shore

downtown football fans worldwide making a pilgrimage to Pittsburgh we were blessed to meet

so many of them coming to our headquarters and shop at 224 5th Avenue,

and I'll be honest today that I'll never forget. All I'd hoped for by evening's end was that

the Steelers would provide another reason. It'd be a day I'd never forget. Well, they did that for sure.

If you can, in your mind's eye,

draw a straight vertical line between the two points that I'm about to make

because they exist on parallel tracks and they both can be true.

Maxi Hanachor, the right tackle out of Arizona State, has a real

chance to be a real prospect and be a real NFL starter on the offensive line. Okay, take that,

stick it on the left side of that line and leave it there. I've got all kinds of reasons to be legitimately

excited about this young man's potential. Everything else I'm about to say goes over on that right

side and has no bearing, no reflection on the young man himself. Okay? Left side, now we're moving

over to the right side. On the right side,

the Steelers, specifically Omar Khan, butchered, badly butchered this process and embarrassed

themselves in front of the football world. We're still separate here, right? Okay, that was left.

This is right. This is a completely separate subject.
