If anyone thought the greatest mystery of this team summer was going to be who's playing quarterback,

think again because you're not even on the correct side of the ball.

Thursday morning. I'm Dan Kovachanovich of D.K. Pittsburgh Sports,

and this is Daily Shot of Steelers presented by the Fandul Sportsbook.

It comes your way bright and early every weekday if you're into hockey and or baseball.

I also offer daily shots of penguins and pirates in the same place that you found

this. OTAs resume this morning at 1110 a.m. And if you can be a little bit of an extra

pep to the step on this end, that's because they will be open to the media.

We will be able to see stuff.

We won't be able to report on all the stuff that we see, but you know, there's ways of finding

stuff out, confirming it, and ultimately relaying it to you.

Because that's the job, and we're in there to do the job.

Now, I don't know if that job will result in my finding out the answer to this mystery I'm

referencing since I don't know that all of the key players will be in place or even participating. I'll remind that OTAs are voluntary. I'll also

remind that veterans sometimes not only aren't needed, they aren't wanted, and coaches talk about

this openly, because they'd rather see those reps go to players they just don't know very much about. So there's an excellent chance

that none of this gets even a glimpse until the mandatory minicamp next week. That said,

yesterday saw the Steelers bring out a stream of assistant coaches to meet with the media who were not permitted to watch the actual practice that followed.

And one of those was Joe Witt.
