We are exactly three weeks out from the first practice on Chuck Knoll Field. That will be at 255 p.m. sharp in Latrobe, Pennsylvania,

and I do mean sharp when it comes to this particular head coach.

And for all we know, and don't bite my head off for this, but the worst thing that could happen to the team all season long could happen within five minutes of the first stretch because someone important can get injured.

I'm not even going to name names because I don't want you to visualize it.

But injuries are obvious.

Injuries are the undoing of even the best teams in the NFL.

I'd like to set them aside even though we all know and should accept that injuries are part of the game

and they will happen to this team as well as to all the others.

What I find myself thinking about today is more along the lines of which is the performance,

the singular performance, one player, that if that player lets you down, you're just hosed.

You got nothing.
