You know, all those times I tell you not to even really think about preseason scores, preseason results.

And put this one at the top of the list.

when the only positive, the only real positive to emerge from this is that an injury that

you feared might have been serious turns out not to be serious. Oh, geez. Just throw it out, like the whole thing. I didn't like the offense.

I didn't like the defense. I certainly didn't like committing 13 penalties. I don't care who the

people are committing them. I really care if they're first teamers, and they were in some cases.

I didn't like the running game.

I didn't like the tackling.

But above all, at the risk of oversimplifying this

and maybe seeming like I'm burying the rest,

it's not my intention here.

What really stood out for me was this offense.

I had felt like between Jacksonville and then the two

encounters with the Buccaneers, meaning the joint practice and the preseason game, that there

had been some progress made among players who count, players who matter.

And while I get, you know, it's a vanilla scheme or no scheme at all,

you're not trying to show anything to the other jets or any other opponents that follow,
