Not a big fan of dissecting cut down day.

For one thing, most of the players that you cut, you end up bringing back on your practice squad

like less than 24 hours later.

For another, by its very nature, talking about the fringe of the roster, not the ones that are going to be taking

The cuts began yesterday shortly after the practice that I covered over on the south side.

13 players in all headlined by Cameron Johnston, their outstanding punter, who got legitimately beat out by another outstanding punter

in what I've been describing for you all along as one of the more compelling the sidebars out in St. Vincent College and beyond.

This is a dude who he joined this team in time for the game out in Denver early last

season after, of course, Johnston's ugly leg injury.

And he instantly, you might recall, proved to be a significant

piece.

In fact, over the course of the 2024 season, and I'm going off the top of my head here

and nothing else, I recall one at the most two kicks where I went, oh, geez, that wasn't his best.

The rest were just, listen, to watch these two in training camp between Johnston and Waitman,

it would look a little bit like this.
