That, of course, is irrefutably correct and will always be that.

But it's also not like coaching can't make a difference.

It's not as if a higher level of personal or positional instruction can't make a difference. It's not as if a higher level of personal or positional instruction can't make a

difference. It's not as if a more quantitative or analytical approach to gathering information and

data, video can't make a difference. And my goodness, it's not as if a different head coach can't make a difference.

In either direction, really, I do cover two other teams in town.

A little less than a year ago, the pirates fired their manager.

Derek Shelton, they replaced him with Don Kelly.

To me, this was the most empty, hollow, irrelevant move the franchise could have made.
