One of the things we all ride this management team about, and actually all the way up to ownership, I'm no exception, is the apparent holding down of youth, the apparent reluctance to go young.

But there's another side to this scenario.

minicamp gets underway today and it runs through the weekend.

Over at the team's south side headquarters, those players began reporting yesterday,

getting assigned to their stalls, seeing their jerseys and their helmets for the first

time, including obviously all 10 of the draft picks.

Over these three days that this will be going on.

Tomorrow will be the only one that's an option for the media.

I'm really looking forward to covering that, getting to know some of these kids.

But beyond that, I'm really looking forward to somebody forcing their own issue.

See, there's always a couple of ways to look at these things.

One is, okay, the Steelers are always going to favor the older guys,

are always going to favor the veterans because they're always playing for the present

and really never toward the future.

So people like me, and maybe you, will say, geez, really, Aaron Rogers again,

especially now with multiple reports, that he, ironically, is expected to arrive this weekend as well,
