The forecast, according to the National Weather Service's Pittsburgh Bureau,

calls for a high that day of 30 degrees, a low of 21. No snow or precipitation or anything like that.

But other people's forecast calls for a chilly reception of a different kind. And I don't know

that it's out of line to think that way. At Mike Tomlin's weekly press conference yesterday on the South Side, he was asked,

and he knew what he was being asked.

With week 18 in a high stakes game like this, is there such a thing as home field advantage?

This was Tomlin's response.

Certainly there is. You know, the ability to change plays at the

line of scrimmage to communicate, to get in appropriate schemes and so forth offensively,

gets challenged. It's the same urgency that we had when we went into Baltimore several weeks

ago. It creates tangible challenges for your offense.

And that's why it's so important that you start fast when you're in those adverse circumstances.

That's why our ability to go down the field and score on the first possession, for example, in Baltimore, a couple of weeks back, I thought was so significant in terms of trying to neutralize some of that.
