Somehow, some way this episode is going to answer the not really ages old question.

Why did they just throw the football to Michael Pruitt?

It's not just Pruitt, and it's probably not Arthur Smith

coming up with the scheme to throw to Pruid, or to Calvin Austin, or to Van Jefferson, or to Darnel

Washington, when in fact he could be throwing to either George Pickens or Pat

Friermouth. Because it's not a coincidence that since Russell Wilson took over for Justin Fields,

more receivers are being utilized and over more different areas of the field.

The obvious explanation for that is that Russ has more experience,

Russ has always had excellent vision, and Russ has no hesitation to run out into the direction he's intending to throw

to make a play happen to whoever happens to be in line for that throw.

So yes, there are settings in which, hey, look, there's Pruitt, and someone will throw that way,

and nothing will come of it. Or, hey, there's Jefferson running up the left sideline. I'm going to put up one

of these moon balls. And Jefferson's going to look over his left shoulder, even though it's coming

over the right. He'll look over his right shoulder, but only after the ball has bounced

harmlessly away from everybody else. Russell also throw a ball, even like that at times, you know, a jump ball for a really small

receiver, to Austin.
