Cardinals four Pirates won yesterday in St. Louis. That closes out that four-game

series as a split. Brackson Ashcraft probably got the headline out of this from the Pittsburgh

perspective. Five and two-thirds innings, that was a season long for him. One run, four hits, walk,

five Ks. He's had four starts now where he's gotten the job done, and on each occasion,

he's expanding a little bit. He's looking a little bit more confident, and he is going

deeper into games.

The expectation yesterday was that he'd go five.

Well, he went into the sixth.
