It's a vicious cycle if you think about it.

The team does need local revenue to raise payroll.

But no one's going to want to go to the games because they won't race payroll.

I'm not getting into the right or wrong here.

exploring on occasion from a more macro view. I guess you could call it a Gordian knot.

Have you ever heard of a Gordian knot? It's one of those things that shows up

in mythology, I think, where no matter how much you try to break free of a given knot, the knot

ends up just becoming tighter and tighter and tighter. I don't know if it's the Norse gods or

the Greek gods or whatever it is, but that's the Gordian knot concept.

When you have an owner of this franchise in Bob Nutting, who is at the same time cheap and risk averse,

those are both really fair criticisms, by the way.

They're not jabs.
