I'm going to take it a little bit more seriously today.

There's no way of knowing what Major

League Baseball is going to look like in 2027 and beyond. And in particular, in 27, not much of a

reason to think that there will be Major League Baseball.

Now me, I think that's awesome because it's the only way you're ever going to get a salary cap system installed.

You're going to need to throw all the weight that the owners can put together to make the union and the players understand that that system would actually result in more money for more players.

But what that means for the pirates isn't just that, you know, Ben Charrington and all of his people and everyone

else would theoretically be performing for their jobs, although I thought that was going on in

2025, if only because I was told that from above.

But by another way of viewing all of this, if there is no 2027 season,

then isn't 2026 pretty much a one and done for everybody? Think about the roster implications.

Think about the uncertainty of, wow, just not having any clue as to what a new

economic system could look like. And here's what I mean when I say that. I can sit here and

repeatedly state that, well, here is how the salary cap system works in the NFL.

Here's how it works in the NHL.

And here's how it might translate to Major League Baseball.
