I couldn't be more displeased with the way this offense is stacking up.

I will say this.

It's about to be offense where there really hasn't been with this entire management tenure.

But something else happened yesterday, and I kind of get the sense that it's going to be more significant than any individual game. Jason DeLay was optioned back to AAA Indianapolis. Now that is not the kind of

thing that's going to make, you know, great big headlines anywhere, nor should it. But ever

since Ben Charington became GM, I've been deeply skeptical of his approach toward prioritizing defense behind the plate ahead of offense.

If that doesn't mean anything to you, then maybe the name Luke Maylee will.

Yeah? No? Okay. For those of you who do remember Maylee, he was a classic career buck 50 hitter. I want to say the last

time I heard that name he was in the Reds organization. But those were the kind of guys that

Charrington was bringing in. And he was bringing them in by the bunches.

Everybody had the same profile, all really good defensively, all really, really, really, really bad, offensively.
