rewind back to say, I don't know, January or February, and ask yourself to define the differences or even the scope of the differences between all five teams in the National

League Central Division.

And I'm going to guess, this is only if you're being honest with yourself right now, you

wouldn't have thought it'd be too great.

Good Thursday morning.

I'm Dan Kovach of each of D.K. Pittsburgh Sports. This is

daily shot of pirates. It comes your way bright and early every weekday. If you're into football

and or hockey, I also offer daily shots of Steelers and Penguins in the same place that you found

this. Brewers 4 Pirates 2 yesterday in Milwaukee, the crew taking two out of

three in that series. Paul Skeen's giving up four runs in his many innings. His outing

limited to 78 pitches because, as Don Kelly would allow afterward,

he's had a pretty significant workload to date going deep in a lot of games of late,

and they were going to stay tight with him regardless. Not that it matters, not that it ever

matters because your club had four whole hits in 31 at

bat, but hey, at least they struck out 13 times. And that leaves things pretty much the way

they're meant to be at this point in the 2025 schedule. The pirates are now 32 and 50, and at the 82 game point, just a hair over the formal halfway point,

they're on a nice, comfortable pace to lose 100 games. Or 98 or 99. Whereas, and herein lies my point for the morning, these are the records

for the other four teams in the Central. The Cubs, of course, are in first place, 47 and 33. The Brewers,

thanks to this little series, are 45 and 36 and just two and a half games back. The Cardinals are 44 and 37, just

three and a half games back. And look at the Reds rising up. You know, the one team that usually

kind of hangs around in the cellar to keep us company? Nope. 42 and 39. Three games over 500.
