But the calendars flipped to February, I just booked the first of the two flights.

I'm planning to make down the spring training.

And that means we're running out of time to at least begin to try to clear up the greatest single misconception that happens this time every year.

End of this month, Grapefruit League games begin, and there will be one day where either at Leecom Park in Bradenton or Donard Ed Smith Stadium in Sarasota,

somebody's going to hit two homers in a game.

And the team as a whole is going to hit like five or six of them.

And for the people who follow baseball casually and still get their news through, you know,

like television and stuff, they'll see all of about, you know, 18 seconds of highlights from that

day. And what they'll see is all of the home runs. They'll go, oh, look at the buckos.

They're going to really mash it this year.

This has been going on since the pirates have been based in Bradenton for the Springs since 1969.

The memo has just never made it all the way out that Bradenton is a really windy place. And the

positioning of Lecombe Park, or back when it was known as McKekney Field, is such that the wind

tends to be really friendly for the hitters. Now add into that, that pitchers aren't really necessarily trying to get you out.

They're trying to throw certain pitches and they're trying to locate them and get the shape and movement and everything else on it that they want.
