A press release around noon broke the news that Muse, a 42-year-old former assistant coach,

most recently with the Rangers before that with the Predators, with an array of other

coaching slash developmental slash instructional experience will be the 23rd head coach

of this franchise.

Now, we're going to have days and weeks and really, if you think about it, years to assess

what kind of coach Mew Muse is going to be.

My own approach to this sort of stuff, and I'm speaking mostly from a professional level,

I believe in keeping an open mind when somebody comes in who's new,

unless they're accompanied by some sort of just awfulness.

And even then if I don't like the choice,

I'm still going to give a benefit of the doubt.
