Another night of Stanley Cup playoffs saw, oh, jeez, I don't even know what to say about my Kyle

Granland, scoring all three of Dallas's goals to beat Winnipeg in game four, allowing the

stars to take a three to one lead in that series. But I do know this. It's been a compelling storyline watching Connor Hellebuck in particular, but the Jets

in general, be unable to win on the road, to be unable, seemingly to handle the, you know, negative or anti-atmosphere that naturally accompanies playing

in somebody else's building in big games. And where Hellebuck specifically is concerned,

he's had all kinds of demons attached to him fairly or not in terms of his general big game

performance over the course of his

otherwise brilliant career. This is a guy who's going to be either unanimous or close to unanimous

as a selection for the Vezina Trophy, which is voted upon by the league's general manager, so it's

just 32 votes. And from there, he's also a nominee for the Hart

Trophy, which is Rare Air. That's Dominic Hachick Air, as the league's MVP. And yet the

moment that he got back into the playoffs, he went back into what the people in Winnipeg

refer to as playoff heli mode.

I bring this up for a couple reasons related to Pittsburgh's own hockey team.

One is that we've seen it.

We've seen the penguins go through some pretty significant playoff toughness issues or weakness issues.

The ones that'll come to mind for most will be the ones that Tristan Jari went through back when the penguins were making the playoffs in his tenure.

Things didn't go well at all. You remember the big messes

against the Islanders in particular. But what's not as commonly brought up around here,

at least not anymore, it sure was at the time, was that the goaltender who had this issue
