I'd love to say that Sidney Crosby and Conner McDavid are the two biggest names in hockey.

I don't really believe that they are.

I'm Dan Kovachovich of of DK Pittsburgh Sports and this is

hear me out because I'm not taking a shot at McDavid here at all. This is the most

talented, most dynamic, most explosive player in the league. And I can't imagine that there's any

real debate or even discussion to be had on that. But you'll note that the terminology that I used was names.

And the two biggest names in hockey are without a doubt the same two names they've been

for a couple decades now.

And that's Sid and Alexander Ovechkin.

And over the next few months, as Ovechkin climbs hockey's most hallowed and once unthinkably

unreachable individual record, you're going to see OV's name all over creation.

You're going to see coverage unlike anything you've seen related to hockey.

And I'm not talking about obvious coverage, you know, NHL network and whatever.

I'm talking about the ESPNs, the various other big boys and print media and whatever else.

And everywhere he goes, once he gets to the final, I don't know, three or four goals,

and Wayne Gretzky's accompanying him everywhere, which you'd better believe he'll do,

and every shot becomes an edge of your seat thing,
