Anthony Manta is a pretty nice hockey player whenever he's a hockey player.

If I'm lucky or not, he's missed a lot of time over his decade-long NHL career,

including being limited to just 13 games last season in Calgary. Good morning to you.

contract yesterday out of free agency. It comes with a base salary of 2.5 million he can

get another total of 2 million if he plays in as many as 80 games this is

exactly the kind of term that you give to a player who's struggling to remain available.

What happened to Manta this past season with the Flames last November,

he had to have surgery on his ACL, and he was declared immediately done.

We'll see where he is health-wise once he gets to training camp, but I can't imagine that an ACL

would be lingering for this long as any kind of issue. Again, good player. 65, 234, not shy about

throwing the weight around, really moves for someone with that frame.

And has a decent enough scoring touch.

You only have to go back a couple seasons, which he split between Washington and Las Vegas

to see that he had 23 goals in 74 games.

And if you look a little higher onto his figurative hockey card you'll

see that he's a pretty consistent double digit goal guy for you regardless of circumstances

having topped out at 24 and 25 seven and eight years ago in Detroit so want to have some fun figure out, figure out where he'll play, who will be his line mate.
