Jules wrote that was published in the baffler in October called Doctors Who, Radical Lessons from the History of DIY transition.

And I'm really glad that we're getting a chance to talk about this and some of the really

interesting and important questions that you pose here, Jules.

And I'm sorry that it's taken us this long to get to it.

I mean, things were hectic with the book coming out in October and you both joining the show, but it's only become even more timely since October.

And, you know, it really ended up with some eerie timeliness in this in the context of, as we were talking about before we started, the recent decision to try and make more abortion drugs available over the

counter, and the way that the FDA did it was really sort of leaving a lot of administrative

burdens in place. And so there are so many great questions that we can get into here.

But I'm excited to talk about this piece, and I think to start us off, Jules, do you mind

walking us through the piece, just sort of an overview of your argument, what you get into,

and some of the histories that support what you show in the piece?

Yeah, this piece in some ways was really motivated by, you know, this sort of broader moment we're living through,

where we've been watching trans health care not only get rolled back or sort of be menaced

politically, but actually start to be banned in a sort of escalating kind of way. And then,

of course, the Supreme Court decision rolling back the right to abortion.
