Jerry and I started using our whiteboard calendar behind us again, so now I can look behind and actually see the date and start having to open my phone, which is very convenient.

I am grateful for two-part. Dr. McCormick? It's a two-part. Dr. McCormick and my spinal cord stimulator.

Because doing these college chores with Alia, I realized if it was last year, I wouldn't have been able to do it.

I would not have. Girl, they make you walk. When I was walking with my cane, there was no way I would have been able to do any of this.

I got into it over the weekend because we went to Washington, D.C.

I got a little emotional just thinking about what if this was last year. I'm so grateful that it's this year, because last year, my daughter would have been doing this with somebody else other than me, because there's no way physically I would have been able to keep up with them.

I mean, these little kids are just like basically running through the campus. I mean, we're falling behind and I'm walking as fast as I can, and I'm thinking, wow, if I was walking with my cane, I'm having a hard time keeping up now.

It's just like, wow, extremely grateful for where I am today versus where I was a year ago.

It's too grateful. It's like, oh my God, I feel like I haven't made progress, but then it's like, oh my God, if I think back, there's no way I could even do this.

You know what I mean? It's like when you get in your head and you're like, wait, I couldn't not even do this.

Absolutely. Every now and then, when that happens, that pain that I used to every single day, 24 hours a day, when I get that, it humbles me real quick.

It's like, I have no right to complain because I am for the most part in so much better physical condition.

I mean, I feel like I, when we got home, I felt like I got hit by a mat truck, not going to lie.

That, that day of Washington DC, I mean, I, I was like, Alia, I need Advil now and I was just popping Advil and I woke up, thank God, feeling okay.

And I'm like, thank you, body, thank you, stimulator, you cooperated, you let me get through this day and that's it.

I mean, definitely grateful because I do, I think back and I'm like, but I did as silly as it seems, I got a little emotional.

You know, we are walking up the stairs to go to Lincoln, Lincoln Monument and I'm like, there is no way in hell I would have been able to do that last year.

And it's like, I got a little emotional. I went up there and I was like, thanks Abe, not to hear anything.
