This is Luke chapter 6, verse 31 through 36, and a prayer. Do to others as you would have them do to you. For if you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners love those who love them. And if you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners do the same. If you lend money to those from whom you expect

repayment, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners and get back the same amount.

But rather, love your enemies and do good to them and lend expecting nothing back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be children

of the most high, for he himself is kind to the ungrateful and the wicked. Be merciful, just as your

father is merciful. Let us pray. God of everlasting mercy, who in the very recurrence of the pascal feast, rekindle the faith

of the people you have made your own. Increase we pray the grace you have bestowed, that all may

grasp and rightly understand in what font they have been washed, by whose spirit they have been

reborn, by whose blood they have been redeemed. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your son, who lives and reigns with you in unity of the Holy Spirit, God, forever and ever.

This talk is on deification and divine mercy.

This evening we begin the vigil of divine mercy Sunday. And in

this weekend dedicated to sharing in the divine life, I thought it would be very appropriate

for us to have a talk that precisely looks at deification in terms of divine mercy. So stepping back, our first talk by Dr.

Spasano was about an overview from a to mystic theology of deification. Then my first talk was on
