Hey there, I'm so glad you stopped by for this podcast. We hope so much we can serve you today.

Turn with me if you would please to John chapter 5. I'll begin reading in just a few moments

at about verse 33 to verse 42, but I want you to sit tight for a second. John chapter 5

and let me tell you where we're headed this morning. We've been glimpsing into the gospel of John

for some amount of weeks now, but we have focused on themes that have fallen into three,

three primary themes, and I want you to jot them down so that we know at the end of today's lesson,

this is what our focus is for the year. This is what God is trying to get through to us.

This is where our commitment is personally and then corporately as a class. Three primary themes

that we've been looking at over and over and over, that every time you turn on the radio and

it's Chuck Swindall or it may be Anthony Evans or you may turn on the television and suddenly it's

a it's a pastor on TV and it's the book that you're reading. It's the devotee. When you see God

speaking to you in a theme, he's after something. That's no accident that we keep hearing something

repeated back to us. That's what's happened in our look at the gospel of John. It keeps repeating

something back to us. The three primary themes have been these, the word and I've got

in parentheses for you and words of God. It's a huge, we've been talking about distinctives

in the gospel of John. He probably has more to say about the word or the words of Christ than

any one of the synoptics. Now it's not to say that they are not emphasizing it just as strongly. He

just does it more often over and over and over again. He's trying to get something through to us

about the word and the words of God. We're going to look at some of what that means in just a moment.

Then we've talked about the works of God. The works of God. In fact, I'm about to read back over these

scriptures to get us on the same page today as we go back and recapture where we've been the

works of God. Thirdly, the love of God. We saw this come in over the last two weeks. The love of
