0:14.9	Hi, Dr. Laura. I'm so excited to speak with you. Thank you. In 2010, I went through a divorce. I now have two adult children,
0:25.4	a 21-year-old son. Okay, you went through the divorce because, because we just weren't a great pair,
0:33.6	and I just needed to get out of it. It was not a good marriage. We were married for 17 years, and it took a long time for me to get out of it. It was not a good marriage.

0:41.7	So I did ask for the divorce, and we decided on joint custody, but I was the primary custodial parent.
0:50.4	And as you know, I register the kids.
0:53.3	I pay for them, and then I send the receipts to be reimbursed by my ex-husband. And he would never pay. So this went on for years. I had to go through a five-year court case. I finally was awarded $40,000 from him for all of the unpaid expenses. And then the mediator and judge said,
1:13.1	listen, moving forward, you need to go through our family wizard because this way you'll keep
1:19.2	track, you enter the expenses every month, he pays you the next month. If there's a dispute,
1:24.8	we will mediate it. So this has been going on for several years, and it has worked pretty well up until a couple months ago.
1:32.4	And for some reason, my ex-husband will not return messages, will not pay me anything that I've paid on behalf of the children.
1:40.6	For some reason?
1:42.9	He can't fathom the reason?
1:46.3	Well, he doesn't want to pay it.
1:48.4	Geez, doesn't want to pay it, right?
1:51.7	I'm sorry, I blanked out completely on the age of the kids.
1:56.2	How old are they now today?
1:58.8	21 and 19.
2:00.8	Okay. So my question to you is, I don't understand. old are they now today? 21 and 19.
2:02.6	Okay. So my question to you is, I'm not going to be in pain.
2:05.7	Why is he paying anything now?
